Comprehensive Management of Wulihe River Basin Ecological Environment, Linyi
The model of a highly integrated Ecological Governance and Landscaping project.
Wulihe river is facing serious siltation, pollution and eutrophication from a complex pollution source. It is impossible to effectively control the pollution simply by intercepting the sewage pipes. The polluted environment spoiled the image of Chudun Town and it doesn’t live up to the goal of building an environment-friendly town (VEIN TOWN). The project team first established a systematic concept---“external pollution interception +internal source improvement +comprehensive management”, and then worked out the targeted solutions, the comprehensive management methods, and overall prevention and control strategies to achieve an effective long-term comprehensive ecological restoration. At the same time, the water environment restoration and landscape construction are highly integrated to build up an effective interaction between water quality upgrading and environmental improvement to highlight the ecological characteristics as a VEIN TOWN.
